~ About Beth ~
Intuitive Reader
Ever
since she was a small child, Beth Hansen-Buth understood that
there was a sixth sense people could tap into. Beth was born under
the sun sign of Gemini, with her moon in Gemini as well, followed
three minutes later by the birth of her identical twin sister.
As the babies grew, their mother was fascinated at her daughters'
close communication with their own made-up language. At the early
age of five, the twin girls were taught deep relaxation techniques
and tested by their mother for their ability to communicate without
words. Throughout her childhood Beth learned to trust her intuition,
and pay attention to what her inner eye told her. As she became
an adult, she followed her bliss to become a professional fantasy
artist.
Through a series of coincidences, Beth was guided by her muse
to study the Tarot. Fascinated by the narrative quality of the
symbolic artwork, she quickly began taking her studies very seriously,
waking every morning to a new card and a pile of books to learn
the meanings. Her paintings went from being mere fantasy images
to true visionary works as she continued to work with the Tarot
and her intuition.
She began doing Tarot readings for her friends, amazing both
herself and those watching with the accuracy of the readings.
That's when the Faery started showing themselves to her, first
through her pencil, and later as little presences she could feel
nearby. When the Faeries' Oracle Deck became available, Beth knew
she had to get to know the deck to see if it would work for her.
The energy of the readings she did with this deck was noticable
to everyone in the room.
Today Beth's mystical fantasy art delights and inspires people
all over the world, and now she's been called to share her talents
as an intuitive reader and reiki
practitioner as well. The fairy pictured at the top of this
website is Ella - Faery of Spirit and is from an original oil
painting.

Reiki Practitioner - Or How I Discovered Reiki
In
her own words: "I had been practicing daily meditation
for a little over a month, and loved working with energy to increase
my psychic awareness as an intuitive reader. It had the added
benefit of giving me clear thinking, balancing my moods and leaving
me feeling refreshed and rejuvinated. I had been working at my
favorite Metaphysical store Eye of Horus in Minneapolis for quite
some time, and I was aware that Reiki services were offered every
week. So I thought it was time to learn a little bit more about
it, and I asked if anyone could recommend a good book. Reiki Master
Maggie Sterba left a copy of Reiki by Carmen Fernandez for me
to read. I took it home and read it cover to cover, the energy
of Reiki seemed to shine through the words and the beautiful photographs.
Filled with peace and joy, I knew that Reiki was for me.
On March 9, 2007 I received Reiki I training and attunement,
and have been practicing meditation and self-treatments ever since.
Though new to Reiki, it's just a new chapter in my spiritual and
healing path. In addition to Reiki, I'm also a trained Pranic
Healer, having completed the two day intensive course of Pranic
Healing I. Both modalities are wonderful, and since I've got Gemini
for both my Sun and Moon it makes perfect sense to me to have
double the fun and expertise to offer as part of my services.
I was a born learner, so now I've moved on and received Reiki
II training and attunement on May 12, 2007. Fully trained to do
both hands-on and distance healing with Reiki, I am taking private
appointments in my home."

Mystical Fantasy Artist
Beth
Hansen-Buth, painter of faery and myth, has emerged as one of
today's premier visionary artists. Working out of her studio in
her 96 year old bungalow in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Beth's work
is increasingly sought out by collectors of fantastic art from
all over the world.
Born on June 17th 1966, Beth showed an early interest in art
which was encouraged by her mother, who was an avid hobby painter,
and at the age of seven she began painting in oils with her mother's
guidance. This early education as an oil painter was interrupted
due to the passing of her mother in 1975. Beth continued to draw
and occasionally paint throughout her childhood and teen years,
the ease and portability of graphite pencil and sketchbook making
that her favorite media for many years. Subjects often included
animals and portraits, but when she started reading fantasy literature,
dragons and hobbits started appearing in her sketchbook.
Color called to her, though, and she began the long and arduous
path of teaching herself oil painting. In the autumn of 2000 Beth
studied Flemish/Dutch oil painting techniques in still life and
portraiture in the studio of Jeff Hurinenko in St. Paul, Minnesota,
which helped fine-tune her already award winning skills as a painter.
Beth blends realism with romance in her oil paintings. Working
in layers to achieve luminous skin tones and glowing light effects,
she creates magical works inspired by faery lore and mythology.
Beth's visionary work has been featured in Seventh House Publishing's
"Season's of the Witch" calendars in 2003 and 2004,
and she has done numerous illustrations for "Tales of the
Unanticipated", a speculative fiction small press publication.
ARTIST STATEMENT: Nothing inspires me more than time
spent in nature. Feeling the wind in my hair and listening to
the leaves rustling in the trees makes me long for my walking
stick, and off I go on another journey of wonder and delight.
There, I commune with the spirits of nature, great and small.
When I get back to my studio, the themes that present themselves
in my work are those of transformation and ethereal boundaries.
Otherworldly characters such as faeries, mermaids, fauns, gods,
goddesses and dryads cross over into our world, opening up new
possibilities of thought and influence. I find additional insights
from my studies of mythology and faery lore, and they find their
way into my paintings enriching each with story.
